What are some possible NFT catalysts that we might see in 2023?

First: I noticed a pattern.

Since 2019, ETH NFTs have ended the year with a higher $$ volume amount than in past months. Afterward, January usually gets a high volume as well.

Will it happen this time? Let’s analyze that.

Dec 2019: $853.351

Dec 2020: $4.68M

Dec 2021: $2.1bn USD

January then starts with a bigger volume month 👇 📊: @cryptoslamio

This year 2022 is also closing with the HIGHEST amount of volume since August. December is closing at around $500M according to @cryptoslamio While nobody knows 100% if Jan 2023 will start strong like past years, this is a good data metric.

What are some possible NFT catalysts?

🔹Yuga drops the interactive mint on January

🔹 @GameOfThrones launches collection on Jan

🔹 Starbucks works on loyalty program on 2023

🔹 NIKE launching the “SWOOSH” NFT marketplace of web3 virtual/physical merch

NIKE has mentioned that they also want to give the Nike community exposure to web3 with this marketplace so they can “LEARN about and collect virtual creations”. 👇 NIKE made around $185M JUST in web3 (NFTs) revenue this year.

🔹 The Sports industry

This year 2022 Cristiano, Messi, FIFA and more prominent teams/players entered the space via collectibles/partnerships. Many new people who entered the space were the web2 sports community! The source of the images below is @beincrypto’s article.

In one of my early personal articles of this year, I included the sports industry ⬇️ way before we saw many teams/players start to see the potential of mixing sports and NFTs together!

We might see more sport-related NFTs in the future of 2023/or upcoming years.

We also have other potential catalysts:

🔹 Auction houses and 1/1 art

🔹 More companies wanting to enter and bring more people like Reddit

🔹 Crowdfunding/Fundraising

🔹 Charitable NFTs

🔹 Gaming

2022 was both a good and very challenging year for NFTs. We had a ton of ups and downs. I remain optimistic about the future of NFTs. Good things take patience. Thank you for reading!
